MAVOURNEEN RECYCLED - ARTIST STATEMENT :
This is autobiographical body of work explores my transition from one culture to another and the people that I encountered through this journey. This one person show was exhibited, along with 15 paintings, of the same topic, at Definitely Art Gallery in 1995. Finding identity is linked in this body of work by recycling and collaging boxes of images that I accumulated through the years. There is no digital manipulation in this body of work, the effects are created with keepsakes, transparencies, photos, drawings, photos of drawings, paintings and photos of keepsakes.
